With the AMS84 BMC Messsysteme GmbH introduces a compact 19'' amplifier system accomodating sixteen 5B modules. Optionally the AMS84 can be extended by additional 8 channels (AMS-EXT8) to a maximum of 32 channels. The wide range of available 5B modules provides for the solution of most specific measuring tasks with the AMS84. In particular, the 5B modules allow potential-free measurement, which is essential for many applications. If connected to a PC data acquisition system or logger, the AMS84 represents a universal and compact instrument for the acquisition of measured data. Besides that, the AMS84 can be incorporated in a 19" 3 height module rack. The AMS84 is equipped with 16 individual cassettes. The relevant 5B module is mounted on the cassette. The suitable input connector at the cassette bracket guarantees for the relevant connection to be available when exchanging the cassette. Power (9-40V) is supplied by an external DC power unit. Provided with a metal housing the AMS84 impresses with robustness and is perfect for mobile and rough use. The plug-in cassettes and all connections are screwed tightly. A handle (AMS-HANDLE) is optionally available. The pin assignment of the module backplane incorporated in the AMS84 corresponds with those of the 5B modules of Burr-Brown and Analog Devices, Inc., however, an additional 0EXC pin has been introduced. Measurements can be effected on various potentials. The potential deviations, however, should not exceed 60V DC (according to VDE Association of German Electrical Engineers). The outputs share the same frame potential. Other AMS versions e.g. with an integrated data acquisition system (LAN or USB) or as 8-channel tabletop unit (AMS42) are available.
