The AP2 is an analog backplane accommodating 5B modules. The wide range of 5B modules provides for the solution of most specific measuring tasks. The 5B modules allow potential free measurement. They mount on a standard DIN rail as commonly used in electrical installation. If combined with a BMC Messsysteme measuring system, the AP2 represents a powerful measuring system. It can also be used as an auxiliary device for measuring devices of all kinds. The backplane is equipped with two 7-pin input terminals. The amplifier outputs are available at screw terminals. Power supply can be in the range of +5V or 9-40V DC. The pin assignment of the AP2 module backplane corresponds with those of the 5B modules of Burr-Brown and Analog Devices, Inc. However, an additional 0EX pin has been introduced. Due to the electrical isolation of the modules, hum and ground loops - often inevitable in large measuring set-ups - can be avoided. Measurements can be effected on various potentials; however, the potential deviations should not exceed 60V (acc. to VDE!). The outputs share the same output ground potential.
