BDA3

The brake pressure indicator and converter bda3 measures, displays and converts analog signals into CAN signals. It is perfect for the automotive industry, where CAN technology is a widely-used standard, to measure and display pressure signals.

bda3 consists of two units connected with each other by a 15-pole ribbon cable: the indicating unit BDA3-AZ and the measuring and converting unit BDA3-CONV. Featuring high flexibility regarding installation the two parts can either be assembled together firmly on a base plate or be installed apart from each other.

BDA3-CONV provides for 2 analog inputs to connect different sensor types to. Here the analog pressure signals are converted into CAN signals and are read out at the CAN interface. In addition, it is possible to transfer measuring data to a PC via 2 analog outputs, which is especially advantageous for high-frequency signals.

BDA3-AZ shows the measured pressure values of one channel on a scale. With two switches you can select between the channels as well as between the indicated measuring ranges. Besides that, the offset adjustment and sensor calibration is done via two push-buttons on the indicator unit. Two LEDs give additional information about the current state of the device.

The device settings for bda3 are assigned by a configuration software included with delivery and transmitted to the respective device via the RS232 interface. The serial interface cable BDA3-RS232, connecting the BDA3-CONV with the PC, is available as accessory.
